-About the Art
In honor of Gaia, mother earth, and all her creations - man, plants and animals, and to counter-balance the negative news on the environment, Catherine has created a series of paintings in celebration of nature's awe-inspiring beauty. Elements are drawn from classic styles fused with exquisite garden elegance.
Masterfully painted, her colors are bold, yet refined and delicately balanced. A splendidly refreshing reverie - a reminder of the importance of our caring stewardship of the environment. Her lush, fleshy, fertile figures, pay homage to artists, William Adolphe Bouguereau, Cranach the Elder, and Jean Ingres, as in her interpretation of his La Grande Odalisque.
